1. Background

The Digital Enterprise Transformation course includes an essay to check if the learning objectives are being achieved.

With the essay a learning transfer of the theory to into practice should take place.

After completing all course modules, the student should select a case of an enterprise and inform CXO Transform accordingly, and work on the assignment listed below.

The essay needs to be send for evaluation to [email protected]

2. Formal subjects

The essay is included in the module grade with 100%.

The essay should be between 2500 and 2800 words (without table of contents and bibliography). If the number of characters is below or above this limit, a grade deduction is to be expected.

The essay should be written on the basis of the principles of scientific work.

An annotated bibliography must be created, i.e. it must be explained why a source was used.

3. Task

Develop an innovative digital strategy for the company you have chosen. You are free to use a real company, a fictitious company, or a real company that you anonymise.

Analyse which three of the technologies discussed in the eLearning modules are most important for this company and justify your choice.

In addition, analyse which two of the digital trends are most important for the company you have chosen.

Assess whether disruptive digital forces are impacting this company's industry, and if so, give concrete examples.

Then develop an innovative new digital business model (improved services, new services or a completely new business model) and explain how the company should earn money with it.

Use the Digital Capability Framework to assess the current digital maturity of the company you have chosen and at the same time describe how this will affect the digital maturity using a concrete digital use case for each digital capability.

Prioritize the digital use cases you have developed based on their potential benefits/costs and plan the implementation roadmap.

4. Evaluation

50% Content: quality of analysis, innovation content of digital services and use cases, application of the Digital Capability Framework. In other words, 50% of the evaluation is based on quality of content (analysis of problem and quality of solution).

30% Structure, layout, red thread, comprehensibility, freedom from errors, completeness (cover page, table of contents, list of illustrations, bibliography, labels, page numbers etc.), form (quality of illustrations, freedom of mistakes, etc.)

20% scientific character: literature used, annotated bibliography, scientific citation. In other words, 20% of the evaluation is based on the amount and quality of literature used as citations.
